We look forward to hosting your event at the Capitol Campus! The Capitol Campus Office of Event Management and Scheduling provides event support for the entire Capitol Campus community, including our key event spaces within 500 First Street NW, 125 E Street NW, and 111 Mass Ave NW.

Please note that at this time we are not holding external events.  All events located at the Capitol Campus must be sponsored by a Georgetown department/unit.

How to Book an Event Anchor

How to Book an Event

If you are a member of the McCourt School of Public Policy community, please contact mccourtevents@georgetown.edu to inquire about event scheduling.  If you are a member of the Law Center community, please contact lawscheduling@georgetown.edu to inquire about event scheduling or visit their website. If you are in the 111 Massachusetts Avenue or 500 First building, contact capitolcampusevents@georgetown.edu.

If you are a member of the broader Georgetown community, but not part of the McCourt or Law Center communities, we encourage you to log into EMS and preview space availability for our two event spaces on the Capitol Campus.  Web requests should be made directly in EMS.  Please include facilities and AV/IT support needs so that we are able to review the full picture and confirm events in a timely manner.  This is also the best way to understand the furniture inventory options and AV/IT capabilities of each space. Please also use EMS for any classroom reservations, utilizing the 125 E or 111 Mass Ave classroom templates.

AV/IT Support Anchor

AV/IT Support

It is critical that AV/IT support needs are shared as early as possible.  The Capitol Campus’ in-house AV/IT team endeavors to support all events, but given the volume and complexity of events on any given day, you may be directed to use one of two external AV vendors.

contact: caphelp@georgetown.edu

These two firms have been approved by the University’s procurement team and are familiar with the buildings from previous work.  Event organizers will be responsible for contracting with the vendor as well as meeting them onsite to arrange for access for set-up and break down.

Check-In Anchor

Check-In

  • Internal Audiences – Georgetown community members with active GOCards have swipe access to Capitol Campus facilities Monday through Friday, 7:30am – 11pm.  For large events exclusive to the Georgetown community, we recommend that the event organizer station someone in the lobby to direct event attendees as they arrive.
  • External Audiences – If your event will include a large number of external guests, event organizers will be required to staff a check-in table for the duration of the event.  Doing so will allow your guests to bypass registering via the tablet located at the officer desk, a process which takes a few minutes per person and is not feasible for a large number of attendees.

Georgetown community members who have parking passes can view reciprocity agreements on the Transportation website. At this time, unfortunately there is no visitor parking available.  Nearby garages include:

  • 601 New Jersey Ave NW (across from McDonough Hall)

We encourage guests to take advantage of public transportation (Union Station is two blocks east of the Capitol Campus) or campus shuttles.  Schedules and route info can be found on the Transportation website.

All event organizers are asked to designate one Georgetown team member to be the point of contact for the event.  They will be expected to be on-site throughout the entire event, as well as before and after to meet any external vendors, if applicable, and ensure the space is left in the condition in which they found it.

Schedule Anchor

Schedule

In terms of scheduling deadlines, please adhere to the following timeline:

  • Minimum 6 Weeks Out – Initiate the event planning process.  While this may seem excessive, doing so will allow the team enough time to review your event, understand your needs, and determine whether any external vendors are required or if in-house support can be provided.
  • 2 Weeks Out – Finalize room set-up and space configuration.
  • 2 Weeks Out – No changes.

We are currently not accepting requests for weekend events at this time.

Student Events Anchor

Student Events

For the 2025-2026 academic year, students and student organizations should coordinate with the student event teams housed within their own school/units or the Capitol Campus Student Affairs Office. Student organizations based out of:

  • Law Center should work with the Office of Student Life
  • McCourt School should work with Student Engagement in the McCourt School
  • McDonough School of Business should work with Student Services in McDonough, msbgradservices@georgetown.edu
  • Graduate Studies should work with Graduate Student Affairs
  • Undergraduate student organizations should work with their advisor to request spaces

In addition, the Capitol Campus Office of Student Affairs is happy to meet with any students/student organizations who may want to host a program at the Capitol Campus. The Office of Student Affairs, 4th floor of 111 Mass, can guide students on program planning and considerations at the Capitol Campus and direct student program hosts to the correct school office with whom they should work. They can be reached at StudentAffairsCapitolCampus@georgetown.edu.
